If you think your child is fine, and does not need a flu shot. This might change your mind. Researchers at the CDC say young kids may be at an increased risk for death from the flu.
That is after looking back at the numbers from the 2003 season, in which 153 flu deaths were recorded among children. Death rates were highest among infants but surprisingly, most of the children that died were previously considered healthy. Researchers say overall, death from the flu is rare in children but, among the illnesses studied that there were vaccines for, flu had the highest mortality rate.
