Freezing temperatures are to blame for a pipe break in central Lubbock. Utility crews spent the early morning hours Wednesday into the afternoon repairing pipes all over town. A major pipe break in the Tech Terrace area affected residents living between 23rd and 26th streets from Hartford to Gary. The water was turned off briefly as crews replaced the busted pipe.
Construction on the Marsha Sharp Freeway is still ahead of schedule. But the current plan would mean the orange cones and speed zones don't disappear until the year 2022, but some other options are being considered.
