Anton Students Spread Christmas Cheer

This Christmas, Anton High School students are keeping the memory of a classmate alive by helping others.

Newschannel 11 interviewed Jacob Williams in May of 2004. The Anton football and basketball player was undergoing treatment for a tumor in his kidney and pancreas. The community held a number of fundraisers but sadly, Jacob lost his battle with cancer after graduation.

"These kids really knew him, looked up to him and were inspired by him. They said they wanted to do something for other children or a child with cancer," said Dr. John Iacuone of Covenant Medical Center.

Jacob's friends raised money to bring Christmas to a patient in the Covenant Children's Hospital. Tuesday, the students held a holiday party to give the child Christmas presents.
