Investigators are trying to determine what caused a grass fire in West Lubbock County Friday.
It started around four o'clock in the afternoon, on Highway 114, just past Reese Technology Center. Fire fighters from Levelland, West Carlisle and Smyer all responded. At one point, fire fighters feared the grass fire would reach a community of mobile homes. Fortunately, they were able to contain the blaze and put it out before it spread.
