The former Texas Tech student who shot President Ronald Reagan will be allowed to leave the hospital for overnight visits with his parents.
Friday, a judge ruled John Hinckley Junior could leave a Washington D.C. mental hospital for seven visits to his parent's home in Virginia.
Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity. He says he shot President Reagan in 1981 because of his obsession with actress Jodie Foster.
Hinckley was a Texas Tech student prior to the assassination attempt.
