A New Year's celebration turned violent when a woman was stabbed in Central Lubbock overnight.
It happened in the 2600 Block of Avenue K around 2 o'clock Sunday morning. According to police reports, a fight broke out and one person grabbed a knife and began swinging it wildly until it struck the woman. She was taken to UMC with non-life threatening injuries. One suspect was taken into custody and several witnesses were questioned at the scene.
