Fire Destroys Garage In East Lubbock

Lubbock Fire investigators say fireworks may have caused a fire in East Lubbock Friday afternoon.

District Chief Steve Odorizzi says the fire started in a detached garage at 3810 East 3rd Street around 4:20 Friday afternoon. The fire destroyed the garage and spread to the main house, but did only minor damage. The Fire Marshal's Office is looking into the blaze.

You'll recall there is a burn ban in effect for our area. And, fireworks are never allowed in the city limits.

    A Brownfield man has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges after a wrong-way hit-and-run crash were stolen guns were recovered. The hit-and-run crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. on February 22, 2017 near 130th Street and Indiana Ave.
