The FDA and drug maker Glaxo-Smith-Kline have a new warning for patients with Type 2 Diabetes. The drugs Avandia and Avandamet have been associated with an eye complication called "Macular edema," which means some blood vessels in the eye can leak and lead to blurry vision.
Actually, there have only been a few cases but enough that the FDA wants patients to be aware... because they say vision problems improved when patients stopped taking the drug. The drugs contain Rosiglitazone. Avandamet also contains Metformin.
