South Plains Fire Spreads Along Railroad

Area fire fighters have worked throughout the day, putting out small grass fires across the South Plains.

One of them sparked late Wednesday morning, along US 62/82, West of Lorenzo. It took fire crews about an hour to get the blaze under control. Fortunately it was contained to a railroad bed. The cause of this grass fire is unknown.
