Some patients are standing by for surgery waiting to hear when there is enough of their blood type should they need it.

Right now we're about a hundred units behind on being able to fill the orders for O+ for the local hospitals. We're also not being able to fill the orders for O- and A- and we're on very short supply on a lot of different blood types," says Les Long of United Blood Services.

So, all blood types are needed and appreciated. If you can help, UBS is near the corner of 48th and University. Walk-ins are welcome or you can always call for an appointment. That number is 741-1752 .
