City Notices Rise In Water Consumption

"Do not" panic but "do" conserve water...That's the message from the City of Lubbock.

"We just ask the public to do their best to be judicious with water use and follow standard water conservation practices we advertise continuously," City of Lubbock Chief Water Planner Chester Carthel said.

Chester Carthel was part of a panel of experts in a drought forum Friday at Lubbock's International Cultural Center. He says water consumption for the month of January increased 11%, which coincidentally match our 11% "above-average" temperatures for January.
