Fatal Accident in South West Lubbock

An 84-year-old woman died Saturday, after Lubbock Police say she failed to stop at a stop sign. Police say, Marie Austin was headed North on Iola, but failed to stop at the stop sign at Spur 327. She slammed into the trailer portion of an 18-wheeler. The rest of the semi then ran over the top of the car. Austin's great-grandson, 14-year-old Dillon Leavelle was taken to University Medical Center. He is listed in serious condition.
