A man believed to have ties to Lubbock, as well as a police record here, was shot and killed by police near Miami, Florida Saturday. Police in Davie, which is about 20 miles North of Miami, stopped a car because they believed the driver had an open warrant from Texas for armed robbery. When police approached the vehicle he jumped out of the passenger side and pulled what police thought was a handgun. Officers opened fire and fatally shot the man. He died on the scene. Police have yet to confirm the man's identity.
