Atmos Offers Help to Struggling Customers in Wake of Recent Tragedy

Police believe an elderly Lubbock couple may have frozen to death after they went months without any utilities. As a result, Atmos Energy is sending customers this message.

Atmos Energy Public Affairs Director Dan Alderson says, "Call us. Let us know and we'll do everything we can to help on an individual basis. We may not can help everyone, based on their credit, but we can direct them where they can receive assistance."

The bodies of Alfredo and Adita Quiroz were found Monday in their home in the 600 block of 28th street. Atmos Records indicate someone tried to obtain the couple's information to help pay the bill, but Atmos could not give out that information without the couple's consent. Family members say the couple was proud and may not have wanted to ask for help.
