World's Oldest Bull Riding Competition Underway

Grab your cowboy hat and boots, today the world's oldest bull riding competition starts. It's the 33rd Annual Mid-Winter Championship bull riding. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta spent the morning learning what it takes to be a champion bull rider.

The most dangerous sport, Bull Riding is only for the brave at heart. Our morning crew introduced us to Sergeant. Pepper, an 1,800 pound bull competing in the event. Suleika even sat on top of the bull and experienced how riders prepare to compete.

Experience the excitement for yourself at the Mid-Winter Championship starting Thursday at the South Plains Livestock Pavilion. The event will continue through Saturday. Tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 8 p.m.
