Obesity and diabetes. The connection is so common today that researchers have coined a new word to describe it..."diabesity".
There are even medical conferences about diabesity. And kids are being diagnosed with it as a red flag to parents that if the child doesn't lose weight they could face a lifetime of health trouble.
"Heart disease, joint disease, some of our lung problems are related to obesity. So, in and of itself it's a chronic illness," said Kate Glasenap, with the Diabetes Center for Healthy Living.
But the diabetes center suggests losing just 10% of your body weight can help ease those symptoms.
