January is National Self Defense Awareness Month. How smart are your kids when it comes to strangers? A new local martial arts facility is hosting a seminar to teach kids to protect themselves against being abducted. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta spent the morning at Premier Martial Arts learning self-defense techniques designed for kids.
The free seminar will teach karate, kick boxing and other techniques that can help your child protect themselves from a would-be abductor. A police officer will be on hand showing kids how to use 911 and DNA kits will also be available for purchase.
Premier Martial Arts is located at 70th & University. The workshop is Saturday, January 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
