County Commissioners Urge Citizens to Conserve

Lubbock County Commissioners are now making the same request as city council members and that is be conservative with your water. Commissioners say you can do small things to help, like not asking for water at restaurants, when you don't plan to drink it. County Commissioner Patti Jones says, "You take the population we have here, and you multiply those small deeds times the population we have and you're talking about, you save thousands up to millions of gallons of water."

Right now, residents are asked to participate voluntarily. Mandatory cut backs and watering schedules may be in store if the drought continues and water use does not decline.
