Motorcycle Crash Victims Remain Hospitalized

The condition of one person has improved following a crash involving two motorcycles and a car in Central Lubbock.

Witnesses say two men were racing their bikes on 34th street, before crashing into a car on Joliet. 22-year-old Christopher Straub remains in critical condition at UMC. His passenger, 18-year-old Amber Carter improved from critical to serious condition at UMC. 24-year-old Aaron Ray Smith is also receiving treatment for critical injuries at Covenant. His passenger has been treated and released.

Meanwhile, weapons charges are pending against both men because Lubbock police say both men were carrying guns at the time of the crash. Straub also faces an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in a drug free zone.
