The city of Lubbock would like to have one officer per thousand residents in Lubbock. Now the department is one step closer to reaching that goal.
Friday, 34 recruits graduated from the Lubbock Police Academy. The group went through 24 weeks of physical and academic training. Some of the courses included racial profiling, professional policing, and ethics. The cadets will now go through a field training officer program.
In the meantime, the department is now accepting applications for its March academy. For more information, call 775-2844.
