Lubbock Police Launch Investigation Into Man's Death

A man found dead inside his home Sunday, could become Lubbock's forth homicide victim this year.

Fifty-one year-old Jimmy Dial was found dead inside his home at 2709 46th Street around 3pm Sunday. Police say his sister had not heard from him since Friday, so she went to check on Dial and found him dead.

Sergeant Jeff Baker says Dial was on dialyses and also had a shunt, so his death could be medically related. "We are still investigating his medical history, and have talked to his sister about that, but we don't know the full extent of his medical history," Baker said.

But Sergeant Baker, who is part of the LPD Homicide Division, says there must be something questionable about the death, or they would not have been called out. "There are some circumstances in the home, and that's of course why we were called out," Baker said.

Further investigation will depend on the outcome of autopsy and cause of death. Those reports could be available as soon as Monday.
