L.I.S.D. Is Registering For SOAR Program Now

Lubbock children have an opportunity to get a head start on their education, but parents must act now.

Sign-ups for the tuition based SOAR program take place this week. L.I.S.D. started the program last year with 60 students. "It's important as 4 year olds that we get them and make sure they have the language skills needed to be successful when they get to kindergarten, that includes everything from vocabulary to listening comprehension and we even go into basic math skills," said Della Frye, Early Childhood Coordinator for LISD.

Four year olds accepted into the program will go to school at 7:45 and get out at three in the afternoon, Monday through Friday. Extended daycare is available for an additional cost. Monthly tuition is $370 and that's for ten months. Out of all the applicants, 60 students will be randomly selected.

To apply visit the L.I.S.D. Central Office at 1628 19th Street or one of the participating schools, Murfee, Waters or Whiteside elementaries.

Though the full scope of the investigation is not clear, the information requests make evident at least some of the areas that Mueller and his team of prosecutors intend to look into and also reveal a strong interest in certain of Trump's actions as president.
