Aaron Fulcher Asks for New Sentence

Lubbock Sheriff's Office Lubbock Sheriff's Office

He's serving maximum sentence for leaving a loaded gun in reach of his 11-year-old nephew. Now, Aaron Fulcher is asking for a new sentence. Fulcher says the judge did not follow guidelines for the crime and says the most he should be serving is 57 months in prison. That's nearly five years. Last month, Federal Judge Sam Cummings sentenced Fulcher to ten years because of prior convictions.

In September of 2004, Fulcher's nephew, Ronald Willis found the gun at his East Lubbock apartment building, then known as Parkway Village. The gun somehow discharged and killed Willis.
