Slaton got some national attention Wednesday morning when the Montgomery twins were briefly featured on the Today Show.
The focus was conjoined twins now that a North Dakota couple is learning to cope with their baby girls born connected at the breast bone. To look at them...the similarity is remarkable to Lori and Rachel Montgomery who were born facing each other, connected at the hip, 16 years ago.
The Today Show went to Slaton to add a positive note to the story, showing that conjoined twins can be separated and grow up to be healthy teens like the Montgomery.
"We dated the same boy once. Ha! But not at the same time," said Lori.
The girls are sophomores at Slaton High.
