The City Council says the Cotton Kings will be around another season. They were asked by a possible purchaser of the team to renegotiate the concessions contract but the city says they didn't have to make a decision because the current owners will be back next year.
Lubbock Mayor Marc McDougal says, "Until someone comes to us and bought the team and says we're leaving unless you fulfill these things, then we'll discuss it."
