MASTER CONTROL OPERATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requires experience in switching live/recorded on-air programming, record satellite-programming feeds and tune in ENG live shots for news. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle technical difficulties in a calm manner. Additional duties to include: Coordinates and monitors the video and audio portions of all on-air programming, maintain station logs to ensure FCC technical requirements, operate video servers for smooth transitions from program to commercial breaks, adjusts video and audio levels on tape machines/video servers. Master Control requires an understanding of broadcast production skills and good computer skills. It requires people skills and someone who can handle themselves calmly under pressure.
 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY:
Previous experience preferred, but not required.

NEWS CONTENT SPECIALIST

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

KCBD, NewsChannel 11 is looking for a multi-media content and production specialist to join the #1 rated news on the South Plains. Primary responsibilities include: operating various newscast crew positions, including cameras, audio & graphics. Editing for all platforms (on air, on-line). Assisting with administrative duties when assigned. Build graphics, maps, full screens for all platforms. Any other duties as assigned by management. Flexible availability required, including nights and weekends. Full time and part time positions available.

Entry level position, college students welcome to apply.
Must be able to stand for periods of 1 hour or more; climb ladders; and lift 20 lbs.; and follow verbal commands. Must demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing. Must demonstrate excellent computer and internet skills

GENERAL SALES MANAGER

MULTI-MEDIA NEWS PRODUCER

KCBD, NewsChannel 11 is looking for a creative and motivated newscast producer to join the #1 news operations on the South Plains.  The winning candidate will work with staff of journalist to bring the best product to our top rated newscast show daily.  College graduates or candidates with equal experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:  Writing formatting, story selection, timing and executing afternoon newscasts.  Posting and updating web content, Contributing to social media efforts, coordinating news promotion with marketing, coordinating with graphics/and studio personnel on pre-production.  Along with any other duties as assigned by management.

 REPORTER/PHOTOGRAPHER

JOB DESCRIPTION:


KCBD, NewsChannel 11 is looking for an aggressive reporter/photographer to join the dominate #1 news department in West Texas.  The experienced candidate must have the desire and ability to dig for stories with an emphasis on uncovering and discovery style and presentation, the skills to write and present polished TV packages, make liveshots come alive, and ability to adapt to a changing industry and take on multi-media responsibilities including writing for multiple platforms (web, mobile, social media sites).  He/she must be able to enterprise ideas and develop sources.  Must have the ability to find and turn the lead story every day.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY:

Journalism degree preferred.
Minimum one year experience preferred
Must be able to lift and carry video equipment and be willing and capable of shooting, writing, editing and posting multiple stories daily publishing to on air, on-line, mobile technology, and social networking sites all  under tight deadlines
Good driving record required
Candidate must be a good, creative, writer, have an inquisitive mind, and must be a creative story-teller.  Experience with newsroom computer system preferred.
Must learn and understand the difference between television writing and writing for the web.
