Three Car Collision Leaves Two Critically Injured

Two people are in critical condition following a three car accident Friday morning. DPS Troopers say 83-year-old Vicente Garza was driving the wrong way when he hit a pick-up truck head on. The driver, 37-year-old Melanie Smith was thrown out of the vehicle. Her 13-year-old daughter was taken to a Plainview hospital.

Following that crash, Garza's truck hit a semi. That driver was also taken to a hospital in Plainview. Garza and Smith suffered critical injuries aerocare flew them both to UMC.

Troopers are trying to determine what sent Garza into oncoming traffic.
