Good and bad news about low carb diets. After 6 months of comparing low carb to low fat diets,
people on low-carb diets lost the most weight.
That's the good news, but 12 months later, low-carb dieters were all turning up with higher levels of "bad" cholesterol...likely from the emphasis on foods high in protein and fat.
So, the study in the Archives of Internal Medicine recommends against a low-carb diet for people trying to improve heart health.
