Homeowner Chases Away Suspected Burglars

A south Lubbock resident is warning his neighbors to keep their garages shut.

Randall Hurst went into his garage just before 6pm Tuesday to get a Gatorade and found two men inside trying to steal some of his belongings.

"I grabbed my baseball bat and chased them out and he was driving out of my driveway really fast and hit the light pole behind me, thank goodness the neighbors stopped by, one took off and we detained the other one," said Hurst.

The suspect crashed his car just feet away from Hurst's home near 97th and Miami. Police arrested one man at the scene and caught the other just blocks away. It's not know yet what if anything was stolen.
