Tech Student Faces Copyright Infringement Charges

A two year undercover FBI effort called 'Operation Copycat' could send a Texas Tech student to prison for eight years.

Matthew Thompson faces charges of conspiracy to commit copyright infringement. Authorities say the computer science major reproduced and distributed pirated movies, games and software.

Thompson and nine others face arraignment in California next Wednesday.
