Jim Landtroop is running for the Legislature to bring effective representation to the residents of House District 85. As a common-sense conservative businessman and dedicated family man, he is committed to representing the values and beliefs of the people of this district.
Landtroop is a 5th generation Texan and a resident of Plainview, Texas. He understands what it means to live, work and raise a family in West Texas. Jim graduated from Texas A&M University in 1991 with a degree in Business Management. Today, he owns a small insurance agency in Plainview. Landtroop is an active civic leader involved in many aspects of the community including the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, United Way and the American Cancer Society.
As a lifelong conservative, Jim Landtroop believes in traditional Texas values as well as core Republican principles. Jim has served as a precinct chairman, convention delegate, and most recently, as county co-chairman for U.S. Congressman Randy Neugebauer’s successful campaign.
Jim and his wife, Cathy, are the proud parents of 3 children: Braden (10), Kenneth (8) and Lauren Grace (5). The Landtroop family helped found Plainview Bible Church where Jim serves on the Leadership Team.
