Food for Thought Report 2.23

Health inspectors checked more than 30 Lubbock kitchens this week. Among those - six school cafeterias were graded on health and cleanliness and three restaurants make a perfect score. NewsChannel 11's Christy Hartin show us what inspectors found.

Here is a complete list of the restaurants and their violations for the week ending on 2/23/06.

We begin in the cafeteria at Hodges Elementary School at 5001 Avenue P. They get zero critical violations making them a Food For Thought top performer.

McWhorter Elementary School at 2711 1st Street comes on strong as well, also with a perfect score.

Next on the top performing list is Tubbs Elementary School at 3311 Bates Avenue - they get zero critical violations.

And rounding out the top performing cafeterias is Westwind Elementary at 6401 43rd Street with zero critical violations.

Next we have three stops to make at local restaurants.

As the saying goes 'the early bird gets the worm,' and this little one flew away with a perfect health inspection. Birdie's Grill at Shadow Hills Golf Course at 6002 3rd Street hit a hole in one with no critical violations.

J J's Frozen Creations at 1217 University dishes out a perfect inspection - making them a top performer.

And on our final stop we pull into America's Drive-In. Sonic Drive-In at 7901 82nd Street has only been open for about nine months, but they're already sizzling with perfection. Health inspectors found zero critical violations there, making them a top performer.
