Soldiers & Mental Health Concerns

A study of nearly 300,000 military service members finds that Iraq veterans are more likely than those stationed elsewhere, to suffer mental health concerns. Especially among soldiers who are exposed to intense combat, only one in three, received counseling that first year home.

The study in the Journal of the American Medical Association says without counseling, returning soldiers can suffer a wide range of problems from illness to substance abuse to divorce.
