Outer Loop Discussed for Lubbock - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

To keep up with Lubbock's growth, Tx-Dot believes it's time to start thinking about building an outer new loop. Steve Warren, Director of Transportation and Planning for Tx-Dot says, "With the amount of growth in west and south Lubbock county it's not to early to start thinking about these things."

The outer loop would expand to Farm to Market road 1585 and farm to market road 179. It could possibly be made into a toll road. Warren says Tx-Dot will look into future land use patterns and demographics.

Right now, Tx-Dot is just discussing the idea. No decisions have been made.
