Pete Christy Wins Barbara Jordan Award

Congratulations to NewsChannel 11's Pete Christy. It was announced Friday that he has won the Barbara Jordan Award for his story about a basketball player in Kress.

But Pete will be the first to tell you that player deserves all the credit. You may remember, Tanner Scott was a high school stand-out anyway, but to score repeatedly with only one arm is truly remarkable.

The Barbara Jordan Award recognizes stories about people like Tanner who have learned to overcome a disability. So, congratulations to Pete and, of course, to Tanner as well.
