Twice this weekend a pedestrian was hit and killed on the streets of Lubbock. The first incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say 60-year-old Terry Lynn Dooley, of Big Spring, was struck by a car as he was crossing Brownfield Highway, near Indiana. So far, no charges have been filed against the driver 21-year-old Eric Chavez. Police say alcohol may have been involved.
The second incident happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday night. This time at 46th and Avenue Q. Police say 54-year-old Enedina Valdez was walking to church, when she was hit by a van driven by 32-year-old Stacey Cross. Police say Valdez did not yield to traffic.
