Bronze Statues of the McDougal's Unveiled

Lubbock will never forget the man who brought the nation's largest redevelopment project to Lubbock. The images of Delbert McDougal and his wife Carolyn are now a permanent part of the scenery.

Bronze statues of the Lubbock developer and his wife were unveiled Monday in Overton Park. They stand seven feet tall and feature the couple strolling together. Delbert McDougal said, "It's totally overwhelming. I never thought I would see anything like this or would have dreamed that I would see anything like this."

The project was sponsored by City Bank and was kept under wraps for about two years.
