Wal-Mart stores will soon stock the morning after pill in their pharmacies.
Officials at Wal-Mart made that decision after several states ordered the chain to make that emergency contraception available. In fact, in Connecticut, the attorney general threatened to drop Wal-Mart from the insurance plans of state employees unless it carried the pill.
So now, Wal-Mart says the pill will be available beginning later this month. However, local Wal-Mart pharmacists told us today that they have not been notified yet of the plan.
Wal-Mart also announced that any pharmacy employee who is uncomfortable dispensing the pill will be allowed to refer the customer to another pharmacist.
