More than 2,300 soldiers have died in Operation Iraqi Freedom and now the latest casualty is a Lubbock native.

21-year-old Rick Salas has been killed in Iraq. The soldier is originally from Lubbock but was currently living in Roswell. He is survived by his wife April, a 3 year old daughter and one year old son.
