City to Spend $1.5 Million on Airport Parking Lot Improvements

The parking lot at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport will get a makeover. On Wednesday, the Lubbock City Council approved the resurfacing of the parking lot with concrete instead of asphalt. It will cost the city an additional $1.5 million.

Officials say concrete is easier to maintain and it will last longer. The money will come from a reserve fund and the parking fees will not be effected.
