Lubbock Musician Jesse Taylor Dies

The Lubbock music community is mourning the loss of an accomplished guitarist. Jesse Taylor died Tuesday in Austin from complications of Hepatitis C.

The 55-year-old was the lead guitarist for the Joe Ely Band in the 1970's and 80's. NewsChannel 11 spoke with Taylor's long-time friend and fellow musician Kent Mings. Mings said, "You know we played a lot of shows together and had a lot of good nights together playing but what I'll miss most is just sitting with him at the kitchen table, talking to him."

Funeral services for Taylor are Saturday afternoon at Resthaven.
