Deadline to File For City Office Nears

Monday is the last day for candidates to file for city office in Lubbock. Here's a look at who's filed so far.

Ysabel Luna, Tom Martin and David Miller are running for mayor. Martin is currently mayor pro-tem. Councilwoman Linda DeLeon is currently unopposed in her run for re-election of District 1. Incumbent Gary Boren is seeking re-election against Richard Quade in District 3 and District 5 candidates are John Leonard and Stephan Lampman.

    Information provided by the City of Lubbock The City of Lubbock Health Department has seen an increase in reports of recreational water illnesses (RWIs) including Cryptosporidium (Crypto). RWIs are caused by germs spread by swallowing or having contact with contaminated water in swimming pools, water play areas, and natural bodies of water such as lakes.
