Girl Scouts Celebrate 94 Years of Service

This month Girl Scouts of America are celebrating their 94th year of building up the character and confidence of girls. All morning NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta spent time with local girl scouts learning about the organization.

Juiliette Gordon Law established Girl Scouts of America in Savannah, Georgia in 1912. Summer Littlejohn, outdoor project specialist tells us there are more than 3,000 girls in the area part of the organization. Caprock Council was created in 1939 in Lubbock with the purpose of inspiring girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service.
