Underage smokers will find it even more difficult to buy cigarettes from CVS stores. The pharmacy chain reached an agreement with Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott Wednesday.
As part of the agreement, the store will install an electronic age verification system. To ensure the stores are carding customers, the company will conduct undercover stings with people that appear to be younger than 18.
It's all part of a multi-state campaign to prevent minors from buying tobacco products.
