Lubbock Hotel Forced to Evacuate Guests

45 hotel guests are being relocated after Extended Stay America is forced to evacuate.

Lubbock District Fire Chief Alan Breazeale says, "We're evacuating the hotel until we can get in and evaluate the water problem. Water and electricity don't mix too well." Just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a sprinkler system activated on the third floor of the hotel at 4802 South Loop 289. The water flooded parts of the floor and began to drip from some electrical conduits creating hazardous conditions. What caused the activation is still under investigation.

Guests are being evacuated and relocated for the night. Fire officials say they don't know when guests will be able to return to their rooms. For Your Mobile Devices
