Former Slaton Teacher Indicted - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

An inappropriate text message could send a former Slaton teacher to trial.

On Tuesday, a Lubbock Grand Jury indicted Abelardo Tomas Mata for online solicitation of a minor. The 32-year-old is accused of sending a 13-year-old student a sexually explicit text message on her cell phone, last month.

Mata resigned from Slaton I.S.D. shortly after the alleged incident.
