Food for Thought Report 3.23

Out of 23 food establishments inspected by the Lubbock Health Department this week, there were no low performers, and three top performers, sort of.

Three food locations were perfect this week, but one of those locations is known by two names.

Here is a complete list of the restaurants and their violations for the week ending on 3/23/06.

If you can't decide on just one place to eat, Taco Bell/Pizza Hut at 5111 82nd gives you two restaurants in one, and they serve it up in a clean environment. Health inspectors found no critical violations, making them a Food For Thought top performer.

If you would rather cook your own meal, you can feel safe about buying your meat from the next stop on this week's Food For Thought list. The meat department inside United Supermarkets at 401 Slide is a prime spot for your cut of choice. Health inspectors gave them a perfect score.

We leave the dessert for last: Dippin' Dots is our final top performer. Located inside South Plains Mall at 6002 Slide Road, they also earn a perfect score. This cool spot features good old fashioned ice cream, but it's frozen into tiny little dots, giving it a different look and texture.
