The Attorney General of Texas is sending a warning. A suspicious vacation sweepstakes could end up scamming you out of $400. The callers target Hispanics who speak Spanish.
Here's how the scam works. A bogus agent calls you on your cell phone and tells you, you've won a travel package to places like Disney World or Las Vegas. Then the caller asks for your credit card number to pay for a processing fee. Attorney General Greg Abbott says you should never give your credit card number to anyone who calls unexpectedly. He says the best thing to do is hang up.
