Ransom Canyon Continue to Investigate Weekend Home Invasion - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Ransom Canyon Police continue to investigate a weekend home invasion that sent the suspect and the victim to the hospital.

Police say an intruder broke into a house around 1am Saturday. The suspect broke a bedroom window on the back side of the home, entered and then stabbed 70-year-old Tom Ritter while he was asleep.

Ritter and his wife both reached for their pistols, stored beside their bed, and opened fire on the intruder.

The attacker was shot in the chest.

The attacker remains in ICU, under police guard, and will be taken into police custody once he is released. His name has yet to be released.

Ritter was last listed in serious condition.
