Despite recent rain and more rain in the forecast, the burn ban will continue.
"Until the grass actually greens up, it's still a very big fire danger until we get some rain; it's a danger," says Lubbock County Commissioner James Kitten.
On Monday County Commissioners voted to extend the burn ban another 90 days. It will now be in effect through June 30th and possibly longer if conditions do not improve.
